BACKGAMMON  Backgammon is one of the oldest Board Games of Persian origin. Rumour has it the Backgammon board, and its entire design is symbolic and designed to represent a year. Why, you may ask? A year contains 12 months, in this case, the 12 triangles, 30 days in a month, the 30 tokens and a week, which is the sum of the highest and lowest dice results.

The game’s main objective is to move all the checkers around on a board in a clockwise motion and move them off the board’s triangle before your opponent does.

How to Play Backgammon

A Backgammon Board has 24 triangles, 12 for each player, and they have alternating colours called the points. The points get divided into four groups known as Home and Outer Boards. Each player receives 15 tokens in predefined locations, and the aim of the game is for the player to move all 15 tokens safely to his home board.

There are Blots, and those are Points with only one checker on them and when an opposing player’s token lands on a blot, the blot gets hit and moved to the middle bar of the board. These are the basics, and the more you play, the more you learn and understand about Backgammons terminology and strategy.
